Vance

A night no different than any other,
Except for maybe a lingering cloud,
Grey in hue, full of clutter and confusion,
That led you astray,
Nobody could predict that it would be your last day.

Of the things we'll miss the most,
The first would be your smile.
Warm and inviting, full of sparkle and shine,
That I can recall even as a child.
Or bright eyes full of vigor and curiosity,
Animated to every occasion.
That carefree attitude, living in life's moment,
Worriless of tomorrow's looming shadows.
A bird freely flying, in and out,
Sometimes too high, sometimes too low,
But with good company and cheer,
Staying afloat.

I never knew the saying that,
Each man's life touches so many others,
Would be true,
Until it came to you.
A cataclysmic, abysmal hole tearing deep within our hearts,
For now is what we are left with.
The minutes, hours, days, months, and years will pass,
In your absence.
Will time ever heal all?

No man is a failure who has friends,
And that you part with more than most,
That you can truly call your own.
Along with countless family,
Who will never forget your legacy,
Here's to you in loving memory.

Glimmer of My Creative DNA

.:*What is your creative ambition?
My creative ambition is to push my limits and in doing so, be inspired and inspire others.  There is nothing more rewarding than taking an idea, synthesizing it, and conveying it to another audience in a creative and meaningful way.  I like to embrace this philosophy both creatively and academically, in personal and professional pursuits.

.:*What are the obstacles to this ambition?
The obstacles to my ambition lie in how to decipher what the reader will want to know versus what emotional experiences you may feel the need to convey.  Also, how can we truly know that our limits have been reached?  What are limits and what deters or attracts us from achieving them?  We must also acknowledge that over time ambition may change and we must be prepared to adjust to a new paththe key is if gaps can be bridged in a creative way.

.:*What are your habits? What patterns do you repeat?
It's likely that I'm the most predictable person that's graced this earth.  Or at least I like to think so.  Everything I do relies on habits and patternsthis creates much structure and organization for me: two things I pride myself off of in life.  My habits are no secret; mostly anyone that knows me could tell you where I am at any given moment (without the aid of face book!).

.:*What are your attitudes towards: money, power, praise, rivals, work, play?
Money is a great prime mover that can bring out the best and worst in people and the same can be said of power: what we perceive to result from increased rank, position, and status (often having financial ties).

Praise is the least controversial term of the bunch—as we all thrive on the emotional need to be positively acknowledged and appreciated.

With respect to rivalry, it's something I avoid in life completely—we should be proud of our own achievements, not comparative and envious of others.  For the latter two, I'll use the old adage all work and no play indefinately leads to a dull existence.
